For as long as I can remember oil paintings have a strong effect on me. Especially the way the old masters could capture warmth, depth and greasiness of oil paint on canvas, in a way one can actually see into the paintings.

After a long search in art in all its forms (I am a real craftsman and autodidact) I ended up painting surrealistic paintings. I've now replaced the surrealistic paintings for portraits. I try to capture moments, in a somewhat dreamy atmosphere. By using pastel shades my work has a modern look with a classic character.
