A number of local artists were asked to think about making a work of art related to the renovation of the cultural centre De Adelberg in Lommel Belgium. The existing building would be partially demolished and then rebuilt. The exhibition took place shortly before the demolition, for that reason I chose to collapse a painting of 200 x 200cm with a portrait of the managing director of the cultural centre.

From one point the portrait is exactly right and when you walk around it, the face changes completely with an astonishing and frightening look.

You can see this painting in person at town hall of the city of Lommel in Belgium. It’s located in the civil affairs department on the ground floor.
